Na procura de uma nova imagem e dinâmica contemporânea para a cidade, criou-se o ARTINTOWN, um projeto da Câmara Municipal do Barreiro e da A.D.A.O – Associação de Desenvolvimento de Artes e Ofícios interpretando a cidade como uma “galeria a céu aberto”.

Sob a curadoria do Núcleo de Arte Urbana da associação ADAO, vários são os artistas que acrescentaram um “ponto”, em várias fachadas do concelho, onde a história, identidade e criatividade são o suporte para todos os trabalhos artísticos.

Além da vertente artística, procuraremos que o Art in Town seja um elemento que interliga e agrega o território, promova a arte pública, reconstruindo e desenvolvendo o potencial cultural e turístico da cidade.

Searching for a new image and contemporary dynamics for the city, ARTINTOWN was created, a project of the City Hall of Barreiro and A.D.A.O – Association of Development of Arts and Crafts interpreting the city as an “open gallery”.

Under the curatorship of Núcleo de Arte Urbana – A.D.A.O, several artists added a “point” in several buildings of the county, where history, identity and creativity are the support for all of the artistic works.

In addition to the artistic aspect, we aim to make Art in Town an element that connects and aggregates territory, promotes public art, rebuilding and developing the cultural and tourist potential of the city.
